Google Fiber Set to make moves

Google Fiber continues to add major networks to their online broadband fiber-to-the-home IPTV. service. This past weekend, Google Fiber added both ESPN and Disney to their channel landscape this past weekend.

Google Fiber is going to be 100 times faster than the Internet most people have today broadband internet. The next generation IPTV service is being launched in Kansas City. ‘It uses a a Nexus 7 tablet as a remote control and a Google-designed DVR, which includes 2 Terabytes of storage (enough for 500 hours of HD programming) and the ability to record up to eight shows at once’.

The combination of Internet and television is by no means an idea that was never going to happen. At some point, I think people knew it would become an important combination. Pre-registration of Google Fiber came in 180 of 202 (89%) neighborhoods in Kansas City. That number shows the confidence people have in Google to create unique and creative products.
